Turn this picture into an Emotional Fitness Exercise. As you look at the picture, Breathe in, focus, hold, focus some more, think about what matters, breathe out, say “Ahhhhh” and “Thank You.”
Most people think “Ugh” when thinking of fungi. Thich Nan Hahn’s tells us “The rose is in the garbage, the garbage is in the rose.” As the link shows he was thinking about our tendency to think in dualities–a habit that is very limiting and part of the human tendency to make things simple or worse to divide people into categories.
Be With Beauty Photographer Trevor O’Keefe lives in the humid mountains of the North East and has an eye for beauty others often miss. He is a hiker and has taken a great many beautiful pictures of mushrooms and fungi. Thank you Trevor.
For personal reasons he is thinking of removing his many Facebook pictures. He may leave Facebooks completely. A definite loss for his many Facebook friends. So I went to his page and harvested over 50 of his fungi pictures so I can do what I have long thought of doing a series of his fungi shots for Be With Uncommon Beauty. All will be a tribute to my young friend Trevor who is a man of many strengths and has survived much pain.
Too often life is so much struggle, we forget to do the small things that can make a difference. Every good feeling strengthens our ability to move beyond bad, mad, or sad feelings. Being With Beauty is one of my Twelve Daily Exercises . Each exercise seeks to strengthen the you ability to live the good life.
The purpose of my Be With Beauty Exercise is to have you exercise the ability to find beauty wherever you are. Beauty soothes.
