Bolts of lightening come out of the blue, disease strikes, accidents happen, others take us to war, some hold us captive, we do not choose these, but when the come, unless dead, we can eventually choose our response. Owning all the choices you are given remains essential to your emotional fitness what others call Emotional Intelligence.
Vicktor Frankel, concentration camp survivor, said, “The one thing you can’t take away from me is the way I choose to respond to what you do to me. The last of one’s freedoms is to choose one’s attitude in any given circumstance.”
When you make a choice as you go about your daily life, choose kindness. In almost every situation, to act with kindness can be chosen. If we all made that one of our choices, groveling might never be necessary, peace might descend to bless all.
