DAILY POST QUESTION

IS THERE SUCH A THING AS A PERFECT CRIME?  Didn’t particularly like this question.  First answer  was a loud “NO”  Crimes  by my definition hurt others. and therefore  a “perfect” crime is impossible.

Then I read this  definition:

“An action or an instance of negligence that is deemed injurious to the public  welfare or morals or to the interests of the state and that is legally prohibited.”

Definitely  not the same as my definition.

So if your society and ruling authorities say it is wrong to pray to a certain G-d and you do and don’t get caught then that would be a perfect crime.

By that same  definition lovers of the same sex where such love is forbidden commit perfect crimes if not caught.

Following this train of thought, there are many perfect crimes.

By the way, according to Jewish law it is a crime to practice same sex love.   I don’t buy that one and Jews are taught the law but then that it is between them and G-d if they are criminals or sinners.  (At least that is what I was told by my rabbi.)

Also important to note that under Jewish Law in order to find some one guilty of a  crime, there must be two eye witnesses who must also warn the party  to be charged with a crime that they are watching.  That goes for all crimes.  Moreover,  if a witness is found to be lying he or she is punished as the person h/she lied about would be.   Finally, the eye witnesses must administer the punishments.   Seems to me a way to allow more perfect crimes then our legal system.   Just my rambling thoughts for today.

Still think if you are hurting another by your behavior, and you get away with it, is not a “perfect” crime, but then I am thought by many to be a WOW=Wacky Old Woman.    Keep caring, try not to hurt others, and stay sTrong.
