I spent years trying to find my name so I am known by many names. I no longer care too much about what you call me as long as it isn’t “Late for chocolate.”

"What is in a name/" blog post

According to this Word Press Daily Prompt: A Name for Yourself: Some writers’ names have becomes adjectives: Kafkaesque, marxist, Orwellian, sadistic.

The question asked, “If your name (or nickname, or blog name) were to become an adjective, what would it mean?”

My answer, in the very unlikely chance this name of mine  became an adjective: Emofit-Kat would mean. “A calm and cool cat, not bossed by mad, bad, or sad feelings.”

The business world is full of people talking about Emotional Intelligence and the need to have a strong Emotional Quotient. Despite some rumors to the contrary, the heart of staying emotionally strong means thinking before acting on intuition or heart speak.

Doing so is not easy, and does not sell well,  which is why many of the Happiness Gurus say “Follow your heart.”

Emofit-Kat disagrees and she is not alone. All the sages and the most recent research tell us “Love is blind.”

So is hate.

Following your heart mindlessly without thought is the stuff of bad relationships, but more devastating of domestic violence, prejudices, suicides, mass murders, and war. The heart of EI or EQ is partnering with your heart and thinking carefully before acting on your strongest feelings.

Emofit-Kat wants everyone in the world to think long and hard before acting on  prejudice, anger, or hate.

Hope you agree and spread Emotional Fitness and Emofit-Kat’s thoughts by practicing kindness and liking, commenting, or sharing.
