Humor is something that thrives between man’s aspirations and his limitations. There is more logic in humor than in anything else. Because, you see, humor is truth.
When you laugh you have seen the difference between hope and reality. You are thinking critically and realistically, but also softening life’s blows. Not that laughing is always possible. Pain kills laughter. The stronger the pain, the more laughter departs. However, when laughter has returned, healing has begun. Tip one: Consciously seek the absurd, the funny, the laughable. Comedians like George Carlin are good examples of those who use humor to point out the absurdity of life.
Tip two: Learn to laugh at your self. Watch the comedians who use self-deprecation to make you laugh.
Susan J. Vamos, a plus-size comedian, uses the following line in her show: “Now, get ready for the fat lady to sing (and you aren’t going to enjoy it because I’m tone deaf.)”

Tip four: Have laughing contests. See who can make someone else laugh without laughing themselves. This works really well to get angry kids in a better mood. When I ran workshops, I would have do go-rounds asking people to give me their best laugh. Soon the whole room would be rocking.
Tip five: Remember what matters and stop sweating the small stuff. Our daily moans and groans are most small stuff and best ignore, priceless if laughed at.
