Love Is Not Enough

Hate and Love

When faced with violence and hate, some call for war and others call for love. Complicated. Many believe love is the path to peace. However as these quotes show love is complex and loving is not enough.

You love flowers, but you cut them. You love animals, but you eat them. You tell me you love me, so now I’m scared!

Love is a fire. But whether it is going to warm your hearth or burn down your house, you can never tell.

What to do? Whether it is loving one person, loving a neighbor, or loving an enemy, love wisely, not blindly.  Emotional Fitness Tips for loving wisely:

Tip one: Judge actions more than words.

Tip two: Expect less. The higher the expectation, the greater the possibility for disappointment.  The expectation that love conquers all is dangerously delusional. Love buffers, comforts, lives on hope and open doors. However; the ones who walk through love’s doors are human;  most meet love with love, but some enter to take all, even the lover’s life.

Tip three: Remember what matters. Safety first, kindness second, friendship and love third.

Post Inspiration: This post was inspired by the rioting in Charlotte, NC and the ever growing war between the police and those seeking justice in all the wrong ways. Moreover, many are not seeking justice but acting out greed and hatred.

It was not inspired by today’s WordPress Daily  One Word Prompt: Jump.
