On the Downhill Slope

I took my first small trip downhill when I had Rheumatic Fever and spent a year in bed as a ten or eleven year old.    Thereafter, I was kept from team sports and spent lonely school gym hours on the bench–something the other kids sometimes envied, while many  others didn’t understand. “You look healthy.”   Now that I am further down the slope I get the same feeling when told things like “You don’t look your age”  “You are only as young as you feel” or “Young is a state of mind.”   This article was a tale of strength, a warning for all, and a reminder to enjoy ALL you have.  Thank you Christine for writing this and Facebook Friend Karen Oyler who stays strong through it all for posting it.
