POEMS TO INSPIRE

An un-named poem by Suzanne Joblonski
The sun set hours ago
days actually that felt more like years
over and over again I ask
why didn’t I know?
all the worst fears
now being put to task
missing something
that was there
briefly
a broken wing
the nongrowth of hair
unable to fly
against the wind
an overpowering gust
that’s wreaked havoc
as it thinned
trails of dust
and many sick
with heartache
unsolable sadness
resonates
as each heartbeat ticks
another lies awake
while others regain fate
that it will blow over
vow to rebuild
with what’s left
