Why your grandchildren instead of your children? Mainly because you, if you are lucky, you don’t live with your grandchildren, are not their main disciplinarian, and so the odds increase the little ones are a bit more open to the wisdom you think will lead them to the good life.
Emotional Fitness Training Tips
Tip one: Get real about the difference between generations. Moreover, celebrate the differences. Only a rebellious child could have brought humankind down from the trees and learn the value of fire. Only a wise old one could comfort the child’s whose fingers got burned and teach how to be safe in risky situations.
Tip two: Know what matters. The only thing that matters is making the world safe for all. It is the mission and trumps all other goals.
Tip three: Live the mission. What you do speaks louder than anything you say, always and forever.
Tip four: Laugh and play more than you scream and shout.
Tip five: Expect and demand respect for and from all.
Tip six: Practice forgiveness and that means of you as well as those who offend you.
