How does my post related this WordPress’s Daily Post: Happy Endings; Tell us about something you’ve tried to quit. Did you go cold turkey, or for gradual change? Did it stick?
Well, the title relates doesn’t it. I gave up smoking cold turkey on January 1, 1972. My motivation? Newly married and wanting to get pregnant. Give it up cold turkey, never relapsed, but I can still feel the tickle of desire in the back of my throat as I type this.
One trick I used which is a SMART goal step was to set a Time Frame. I promised myself that if I lived to be 90, I would light up again. Now I doubt that despite the tickle of desire: smoking no longer seems worth the money.
