Last time I looked in the mirror, I didn’t expect to see this:
I hoped to see this.
But that was five years ago. So I saw this.
TOPIC 82 UNUSUAL. Once upon a time reaching 3 x 25 was most unusual. Now more common. Still, life is not for sissies and hopefully we old ones have found strength to make the most of what we have as we slip, slide down hill.
Reading my Facebook Birthday wishes brought tears of joy to my eyes, warmth to my heart and gratitude to my soul.I have worked hard trying to be a caring person and the posts assured me I had met that goal at least some of the time. Caring is absolutely the most selfish and blessed way to live a life.
For my young friends, I loved this post by Judith Baxter, but also want everyone of you to start to day to live the life you want to live. No one else will live it for you and many will be pressuring you to do it their way. Sometimes we must do it another’s way, that is caring; but we need to keep the balance.
Here is the post.
A Quote: I have warned you in the past how I shall be when I am old. “I shall sit down on the pavement when I’m tired/And gobble up samples in shops and press alarm bells/And run my stick along the public railings/And make up for the sobriety of my youth.”
STAYING STRONG TIP Practicing kindness leads us down a road to contentment and fulfillment. That can only be, however, when we are kind toward are selves. The Golden Rule in all its many forms preaches–caring for others as you would for yourself. You cannot care for others if you are not caring for you.
Thank you all for being part of my life.
