THINKING ABOUT WHAT MATTERS

We shall not cease from exploration

And the end of all our exploring

Will be to arrive where we started

And know the place for the first time.

Poetry is one of my loves and I have a journal of attempts.  Poetry speaks to our heart, but often about subjects that need thinking about.  The quoted above  poem seems to suggest  all thinking is circular.  That might make you say why think.  Not helpful.   I think reality says sometimes thinking takes us back to a beginning but with a new insight.

When I conducted trainings for NYCity’s crisis teams,  my rule was you could not ignore your heart (what some refer to as gut feeling)  or your head (knowledge learned from others).  If you were going to  call 911 as a crisis team, you had to be able to explain the thinking behind your decision as well as  what your heart was telling  you do to.

Staying Strong tip:  Let your heart open your mind and grow stronger.
